As founder of Streamlined Office Solutions (SOS), Robin Smith developed ASK based on his more than 18 years of experience in and around newspapers. He calls upon his career experience with the United States Air Force at the Pentagon and in the field focusing on mission identification and process management.
Along the way he has developed products and software solutions for numerous newspapers across the United States. Areas ranging from cost and revenue analysis, budgeting, circulation, email marketing, CRM and advertising rate matrices to name a few. His approach is based on developing solutions, not software. His work centers on delivering measurable ROI using technology and specialized software combining market opportunity analysis with workflow and sales process efficiencies. His work is designed to equip newspaper advertising sales teams with efficient and effective tools that deliver programs for advertiser success.
John Kimball brings a 42-year newspaper career to ASK and SOS that includes senior sales management at The Detroit Free Press, The Denver Post and North Jersey Media Group and 11 years as Chief Marketing Officer at The Newspaper Association of America. It is that experience that gives him a unique perspective on newspapers and how they are managing the transition from single to multi-platform solutions for readers and advertisers. His intimate understanding of how newspapers work and go to market and his strong relationships with the advertising community provide clients with valuable insight as they put new tools to work in the ever-competitive media marketplace.
